Creating art helps me to slow down and pay attention. While my background in design shapes how I think about composition and colour, I try to let things unfold more naturally when creating art.

I work mainly with acrylics for painting and linoleum for printmaking. Nature shows up in much of what I do—forests, ocean, wildlife—and some pieces reflect parts of my Iranian heritage and the people and stories that stay with me.

It's important to me to try to stay present in the creative process and to leave space for viewers to find their own meaning in the work.
